STraS-J (Speech Training System for Japanese) is a speech training system designed to improve learners’ oral production skills in Japanese. Developed as an extension of the earlier content Nihongo Overlapping, it offers a variety of practice methods, including Overlapping, Shadowing, Oral Summarization, and Role-Play. Through these activities, learners can comprehensively develop their pronunciation, prosody, listening skills, and spoken communication abilities. By selecting methods that suit their individual needs, learners can progressively enhance their Japanese speaking proficiency.

Features

  • Offers multiple practice modes, including Overlapping, Shadowing, Oral Summarization, and Role-Play.
  • Visualizes learners’ speech prosody (pitch, intensity, timing, etc.) in graphs and displays comparison scores with model audio.
  • In the oral summarization, your speech is automatically transcribed, and feedback and advice are provided.
  • Integrates with conversation scene videos (SNACK:Short NAtural Conversations for kyanpasu(campus) life), enabling practice based on realistic situations.
  • Allows users to upload or select their own practice materials, making it suitable for learners at any proficiency level.

Please note that the system may not function properly depending on the device or operating environment.
