The
Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) is an organization affiliated with the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology and supports student exchange programs between
Japan and foreign countries. JASSO offers scholarships for international
students under the "Student Exchange Support Program ( Scholarship for Short-Term Study in Japan )". These scholarships are available for qualified students
who are accepted for between three months and one year by Japanese universities
or colleges under reciprocal student exchange agreements. For more information,

JASSO will provide the
following financial aid to qualified students:
- Monthly stipend: 80,000 yen (up
to 12 months)
- Settling-in allowance: 80,000yen

Applicants must meet
all of the following criteria:
- Students of non-Japanese nationalities;
- Students accepted under student exchange
agreements;
- Students demonstrating excellent academic
records at their home institutions;
- Students who are highly motivated
with clear study plans at their home institutions and who are most likely
to benefit from studying in Japan;
- Students who do not have the financial
means to support their study in Japan;
- Students who will return to their
home institutions and resume their studies after completing study in
Japan;
- Students with valid "College
Student" visas.

Students applying for
the JASSO scholarship must submit both JASSO and JTP application forms
to the International Student Center through the student exchange office
